It's hard to believe that I'm saying this, but I plan to "retire" at the end of the month. I’m not sure I like that word “retiring” – it conjures thoughts of old folks playing bingo and late afternoon buffets. Although I feel way too young for an AARP crowd (because I quit high school to go to college early, finished in three years, and was the youngest teacher ever hired in the state of Texas), I’m glad to accept the IHOP “senior” discount on the 2x2x2 breakfast! I have loved all the various jobs I’ve had and the amazing people with whom I’ve worked. After 32 years and 7 months, though, I’m ready for my new challenge.
